James Owen Davidson

Jul 18, 1941 — Oct 6, 2026

Temple, Georgia

James “Owen” Davidson, 85, of Temple, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. He was born on July 18, 1941, to the late Calvin and Flora Davidson. Owen met the love of his life, Wanda, in high school, beginning a love story that would last a lifetime. They married in 1960 and spent the next 62 years building a life rooted in their Christian faith and their devotion to one another. Together, they raised three children and delighted in their seven grandchildren, surrounding them with affection, laughter, and the reassuring warmth of home.

Owen was a devoted family man who offered wisdom, comfort, and steady support. His family could always count on his love and find a sense of safety in his presence. Music was one of Owen’s greatest joys, and he often said that Wanda was his song. Whether whistling a familiar tune or singing along with his favorite Southern gospel quartets, he filled everyday moments with music. He shared that joy in churches near and far, singing with trios and quartets, and spent more than a decade traveling across Georgia to sing alongside his eldest daughter. After Wanda passed away, he often said that his song had gone with her. Now, reunited with his beloved in heaven, we rejoice in the thought that Owen has found his song once more.

In addition to his parents, Owen was preceded in death by his loving and faithful wife, Wanda Cole Davidson; his son, Brian Mitchell Davidson; his sisters, Marie McElwee and Evelyn Ward; and his brothers, J.W. Davidson and Larry Davidson.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Sheila Davidson Pecce of Carrollton and Stephanie Marie (Keith) White of Temple; his grandchildren, Brooke Davidson, Erika Pecce, Elizabeth (Lanier) Blackie, Louie Pecce, Jessica Pecce, Franklin White, and Jason White; his brother, Ardell Davidson; and several nieces and nephews. Owen leaves behind a family who will always treasure his generous heart, his gentle guidance, and the laughter and music he brought into their lives. His love lives on in the family he cherished, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew him.
