James Edward Greene

Mr. James Edward Greene, age 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his residence. He was born July 17, 1922 in Carroll County, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. William Elijah Greene and the late Mrs. Arizona Reid. Mr. Greene worked as a saw miller in the timber industry and was one of the builders for the first nine holes at the West Pines Golf Course in Douglasville, Georgia. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. Mr. Greene was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Greene Bolding. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gene “Buck” Wilson of Roswell; his sons and daughter-in-law, James and Carole Greene of Douglasville and Jimmie Reid Greene and his wife Libby of Carrollton; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00AM at the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Monday, January 4, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
