James Edward Posey

Mr. James Edward Posey, age 91, of Villa Rica, passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2019. He was born March 12, 1928 in Buchanan, GA the son of the late Mr. William Henry Posey and the late Mrs. Ruth Otwell Posey. Mr. Posey retired from the Atlanta Housing Authority after many years of service. He was very involved in church, Atlanta Christian City and served as a mason very many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Iddins Posey; daughter, Nancy Posey Mize; sister, Clarice Posey; brother, A.L. Posey. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and David Elliott of Douglasville, Savannah DeMan and Roman Calhoun of Marietta; son-in-law, John Mize of Duluth; two grandchildren, James Brandon Elliott, Amanda and Kelly Miller; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, November 4, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 4, 2019 , at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
