James Frank Austin

James Frank Austin, 75, of the Union Community, Paulding, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. He was born on August 16, 1950, the son of the late Eulias Thomas Austin and the late Lois Pollard Austin.

James lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a profound love for his family. Family meant the world to him. He treasured every moment spent with his family and grandchildren. They brought him immense joy and fulfillment in their company. James trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was a member of the White Oak Springs Baptist Church of Dallas Georgia.

Professionally, James devoted fifty-nine years to the construction industry, demonstrating unwavering commitment and expertise. His extensive career reflected not only his skill but also his strong work ethic.

Beyond work, James found solace in the outdoors. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was very talented with woodworking and saw milling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Austin; sisters, Jeanette Austin and an infant sister.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Darcile Cole Austin, to whom he married on December 6, 1975; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Brandi Austin of Temple; daughter and son-in-law, Stefanie and Nathan Johnson of Barnesville, Georgia; brother Donald Austin of Dallas; sister, Brenda Fennell of Buchanan; grandchildren, Garrett Austin, Ellie Austin, Braden Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson, Bella Austin, Walker Austin, Maleah Johnson, Hudson Austin, and Addilynn Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at New Freedom Baptist Church in Rockmart with funeral services conducted at 3:00 PM with Bro. Nate Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at New Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery. 676 Compton Rd. Rockmart, GA 30153.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Braden Johnson, Garrett Austin, Tim Baggett, Sam Baggett, David McKenzie, and Tim Kelley.

James leaves behind countless memories cherished by all who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived with honor and devotion. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him the most.
