Mr. James Franklin McAnsh, 76, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Portsbridge Hospice in Austell. He was born October 3, 1929 in Fulton County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. William G. McAnsh and the late Mrs. Callie Jane Wheeler McAnsh. He married Cherie Hopkins on September 29, 1949 in Fulton County, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Railroad Foreman for CSX Transportation for 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Cherie H. McAnsh of Douglasville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Peter Ulrich of Fort Collins, CO and Rebecca Lynn and Ray Rathel of Douglasville; one sister, Mandy Belle Coryell of Tampa, FL; one brother and sister-in-law, Ben W. and Edith McAnsh of Carrollton; 1 grandchild, T.J. Rathel; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted Friday, May 19, 2006 at 7:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home.
