Mr. James Fred Gilreath, age 77, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1931 in Munford, Alabama the son of the late Mr. S.H. Gilreath and the late Mrs. Nancy Jane Johnson Gilreath. He was a member of Utopia Baptist Church. He worked at Globe Union for 20 years and then retired from the Douglas County Water Authority. He was a minister and evangelist preaching at various churches and revivals. He also had his own radio ministry through WGMI Radio for 15 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Fay Nell Morris; brothers, Lewis Gilreath, J.T. Gilreath, Oscar Gilreath, Jack Gilreath and Dexter Gilreath; granddaughter, Tammy Renee Gilreath; and great-great granddaughter, Chelsea Liana Gilreath. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laura Mae Morrow Gilreath of Villa Rica; three daughters, Mary Gilreath, Beverly Higginbotham, and Patricia Mauldin all of Villa Rica; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Dorothy Gilreath of Villa Rica, Michael and Anita Gilreath of Carrollton, and Johnny and Terrie Gilreath of Temple; brother, Earl Gilreath of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 22, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Truman Goldin, Rev. Russell Calhoun, and Rev. Bobby Smallwood officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in the Garden of Gethsemane. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
