Mr. James Michael âJimâ Heath, Sr., age 69, of Winston, Georgia passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. He was born February 12, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida the son of the late Mr. William Thomas Heath, Jr. and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Crosby Heath. He was raised in Atlanta, where he attended Central Presbyterian Church and was a 1961 graduate of Hoke Smith High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Heath retired in 2003 as a superintendent for Fulton County Public Works. He was a member of West Metro Church of God where he served on the Pastors Council. He was devoted to the Lord and sang in the choir all his life and also had served as a deacon in the Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Heath Brown and his brother, George W.T. Heath. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Fayard Heath of Winston; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Dawn Heath of McKinney, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Marabel âMemâ Heath Dooley and husband, Tony Dooley of Hiram; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack and Germaid Fayard of Lexington, SC and Griggs and Brenda Fayard of Meansville; nieces and nephews; Jason and Nicole Dooley of Dunwoody, Laurie and Bob Painter of Dallas, Bonny Glawson of Lawrenceville, and Jennifer and Bob Gossman of Kennesaw; and his faithful canine companion, April. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Glenn Rountree officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Jason Dooley, Travis Thompson, Don Brown, Tim Singell, Jerry Duke, and Jack Collier. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with military honors provided by members of the U.S. Army Georgia National Guard Honor Guard.
