James David Herron

James David Herron, a beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 30, 2026, in Douglasville, Georgia at the age of 58. He was born on September 1, 1967, in South Fulton, Georgia, to the late Mr. Thomas Garland Herron and the late Mrs. Edna Dot Rice Herron.

His passing leaves a profound absence in the lives of all who knew him. David’s journey through life was marked by a warmth and positivity that touched every person he met, and his memory will be cherished by his loved ones, friends, and the community he called home.

David dedicated his career to the printing industry, where he was known for his hard work and commitment.

David was not defined only by his work, but by the passions and joys that enriched his days. He was an avid fisherman and loved karaoke. He found freedom on his motorcycle and satisfaction working on his car. Holidays were especially meaningful to David, times that allowed him to celebrate with those he loved the most.

Family was always at the center of David’s world. He delighted in spending time with his grandkids, his children, and the entire family, often expressing the pride he felt for them. Whether enjoying a simple day at home or exploring his favorite vacation spot, Captiva Island, David cherished every shared memory. He was also deeply committed to his faith and his church, Clearview Baptist Church in Douglasville. Those who knew David remember him as outgoing, exceptionally social, and always ready to listen or extend a helping hand. His humor and goofiness were legendary among friends and strangers alike, making each gathering brighter.

Perhaps the most enduring tribute to David is the way he approached each day. No matter the circumstances, he was known for greeting the world with a smile and the iconic phrase: he was always “On Top of the World.”

David is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Wanda Herron; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Katie Herron; daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and Christian Davis, and Natasha and Brian Noblitt; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Karen Herron; sister, Tina Morgan; four grandchildren, Mia Herron, Caster Martin, Christina Flores, and Gabriela Flores; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Monday, August 3, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The funeral service will follow beginning at 12:00 PM. David will then be laid to rest at Sunrise Gardens of Memories in Douglasville, Georgia.
