James Hindman

Mr. James Charlie Hindman, Sr., 61, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 after his long battle against his illness. He was born June 9, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Andy Woodrow Hindman Sr. and the late Mrs. Margene McGuoirk Hindman. He graduated from Douglas County High School. A hardworking man, he worked as a machine operator at Printpack Inc. for over 38 years. James loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and was lovingly called “Papa” by grandchildren and many “adopted” children and grandchildren. His children and grandchildren were his world. He was an avid outdoorsman whom enjoyed shopping, camping, hunting, fishing, and collecting and tinkering with a variety of things. He loved life and he showed his strength during his long battle against his illness. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Hindman and Billy Hindman; brother in law, Larry King. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deidera Clarissa Tucker Hindman of Douglasville; five children and their spouses, Tommie Darlene and James Mason of Franklin, Tonya Hindman Norris and Robert Norris of Mableton, James C. Hindman, Jr. and Heather Hindman of Douglasville, Christopher Hindman of Douglasville, and Hallie Hindman of Douglasville; sisters and brother-in-law, Marguerite King of Douglasville and Marie and Charles Hill of Douglasville; brother, Andy Hindman, Jr. of Douglasville; two grandchildren, Lexi Jacops and Aden Hindman; numerous nieces and nephews and beloved “adopted” children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, June 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Brother Terry Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
