James Hugh Bone

Mr. Hugh Bone Mr. James Hugh Bone, 86, of W. Bankhead Highway, Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Friday, August 19, 2005 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica following a brief illness. He was born October 2, 1918 in Paulding County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Henry Lee Bone and the late Mrs. Jenny Viola Wheeler Bone. He married Louvie Elizabeth West on December 1, 1939. He served with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica where he was a member of the GOLD Choir and the Berean Sunday School Class. Most of his life he had been a truck driver and had worked at Cannon Casket Company in Villa Rica. He was retired with Motor Convoy and had worked as a bus driver for the Carrollton City Schools. He served as the supervisor of Community Service for the City of Villa Rica until 2002 and retired again at 82 years old. He had a great love of music and especially enjoyed the Gathers Homecoming Series and Barbershop Quartets. He was a member of the Peachtree Chorus Group of Atlanta and was an Emeritus member of the Villa Rica Lodge #72 F&AM. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Louvie Elizabeth West Bone on March 9, 2003. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Donald Day of Fayetteville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Ann Bone of Villa Rica and Ted and Sharon Bone of Jonesboro; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Renee Day of Sharpsburg, Cindy and Thomas Sheehan of Newnan, Dr. Tracy and Todd Maloney of Cumming, Kathy and Wayne Briscoe of Cumming, Susan and Nick Pullen of Villa Rica, and Benji Bone of Carrollton; 3 step-grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel Smedley of Jonesboro, Melanie and Allen Phillips of Sharpsburg, and Pamela and Mike Peaden of Brooks; 11 great-grandchildren, Dalton, Day, Courtney Day, Dylan Day, Kinley Meeks, Kensie Meeks, Bailey Maloney, Riley Maloney, Bryce Briscoe, Emily Briscoe, Jack Pullen, and Sam Pullen; 11 step-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Bolden West of Ashburn; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, August 22, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with Dr. J.B. Marlow, Pastor Harold Cunningham, Pastor Bob Willy officiating and Dr. Bruce Camp delivering the eulogy. Musical selections will be rendered by the Perry Bone with the trumpet, Rev. Ben Pilgreen, and the Quartet. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Gardens in Villa Rica with his grandsons serving as pallbearers: Kim Day, Benji Bone, Nick Pullen, Todd Maloney, Thomas Sheehan, and Daniel Smedley. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Berean Sunday School Class, Frank Yates, Kenneth Dobbins, and Chancy Lee. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Sunday, August 21, 2005 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
