James Jones

Mr. James Edward “Ed” Jones, age 81, of Winston, passed away, Thursday, October 20, 2016. He was born June 28, 1935 in Douglasville the son of the late Mr. James Cicero Jones and the late Mrs. Erma Corene Costley Jones. Mr. Jones worked for Nabisco Company for over 36 years. He loved visiting with people and was a strong and faithful church member at Friendship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hollis Jones of Winston; daughters and son-in-law, Theresa Brown of Wedowee, AL, Patricia and Chris Taylor of Largo, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Connie Veitch of Gadsden, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Dorene and Max Willis of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Lauren, Dylan, James, Austin, Adam, and Jessica; one great-grandson, Cayson; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mr. Jones will lie in state Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Friendship Baptist Church in Winston with Rev. Eric Evans and Rev. Jason Suits officiating.
