James Mason Harper, age 20, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 after a long battle with lymphoma. He was born September 7, 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mason was a 2007 graduate of Chapel Hill High School and attended West Central Technical School. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and scuba diver. He was preceded in death by sisters Amanda Blair and Deana Brook Harper; maternal grandfather A.N. Holbrook Jr. of Austell; paternal grandparents Earnest and Doris Harper of Powder Springs. Mason is survived by his loving parents Jerry and Lynn Harper of Douglasville; sister Cali Harper of Athens, half-sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Kenny Whitworth of Roswell; niece and nephew Avery and Brayden Whitworth; grandmother Lois Holbrook of Austell; aunt and uncle Marsha and Ron Mann of Marietta; aunt and uncle Richard and Ann Harper of Hiram; loving girlfriend Hailey Fogerty of Lithia Springs. Funeral services will be held at the Douglasville Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28th, at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the funeral service, there will be a luncheon at the Magnolia House of Powder Springs. Private interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the Douglas Chapel of the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home on Friday, March 27, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
