James Norris

Mr. James Allen Norris, 72, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on February 12, 2017. He was born February 11, 1945 in Ralph, Alabama, the son of the late, Samuel Norris and Martha Hamilton Norris. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by two brothers, Jesse Norris and Thomas Norris. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and retired from a career of engineering and sales with Danaher, Siemens, U.S. Electrical Motors and Boeing. All who knew him were blessed by his devotion, intellect, humor and unique ability to connect people, including friends and family far and wide. He was passionate about travel and adventure, his family, and of course, the Alabama Crimson Tide. He is survived by his son, Jason Norris of Ball Ground, Georgia, his daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and David Stainback, of Atlanta, Georgia, his brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Dee Norris of Granbury, Texas, Lewis and Donna Norris of Douglasville, Georgia, and a sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Harvey Flores of Elk Grove, California. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Thomas William Stainback, Hamilton Lyons Stainback and Brooks Perry Stainback. In accordance with his wishes, the body was cremated and the ashes will be scattered at the family cemetery at Beulah Baptist Church in Eutaw, Alabama at a memorial service in his honor on Mother’s Day 2017.
