James Peek

Mr. James Merritt Peek, age 90, of Lithia Springs, passed away, Friday, November 10, 2017. He was born June 16, 1927 in Atlanta, the son of the late Mr. Paul Peek and the late Mrs. Lucielle Lee Peek. Mr. Peek retired from Super Valu after many years of service as an Electrician. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He loved NASCAR, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Bethel Methodist Church.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Lackey; granddaughter, Kim Lackey; sister, Frances Daniels. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eleanor Giles Peek of Lithia Springs; son and daughter-in-law, James and Maria Peek of Douglasville; grandchildren, Lissa Kimbal, Amy Lackey and Kelly Bryan; great-grandchildren, Kacie Kimbal, Stacie Kimbal, Jagger Green, Alexis Harris, Ethan Hayes, Levi Sharp and Parker Bryan; special cousin, Delores Summers of Lake Jackson, GA also survives. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Monday, November 13, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, November 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Mozley Memorial Gardens with Pastor Cliff Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
