Mr. James Roy Entrekin, age 80, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at his home. He was born June 2, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama the son of the late Mr. James Roy Entrekin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lenora Smith Entrekin. He married Joann Dodson on January 29, 1948 in Douglasville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Douglasville. Mr. Entrekin was a Master Electrician and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 613 for over 51 years. He was a member of the Douglasville Masonic Lodge #289 F&AM for over 55 years and he served as the President of the Douglas County Jaycees. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joann Dodson Entrekin of Lithia Springs; daughters and son-in-law, Jane Entrekin of Lyman, South Carolina and Carolyn and Mark Williams of Kennesaw; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sheryl Entrekin of Temple and Scott and Samantha Entrekin of Dallas; 1 grandchild, Amanda Holcomb of Kennesaw; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 4:00 PM from the First United Methodist Church of Douglasville with Rev. Bill Holcombe and Rev. Max Caylor officiating. Private family inurnment will follow at Douglasville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church of Douglasville from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM prior to the service.
