James Roy "Jim" Sinyard

Mr. James Roy “Jim” Sinyard, 81, of Villa Rica Highway, Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. He was born September 2, 1924 in Haralson County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. William Noah Sinyard and the late Mrs. Laura Ethel Turner Sinyard. He married Mira Chandler on June 8, 1947 in Lithia Springs, Georgia. He served as a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force for over 26 years having served during World War II, Korean Conflict and the Cuban Crisis. He was a maintenance mechanic at Dobbins Air Force Base. He loved gardening, golfing, woodworking and sports. He was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. He was a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge of Villa Rica. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mira Chandler Sinyard on January 4, 2005. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jim Kirk of Blue Ridge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Donna Sinyard of Villa Rica and Mike and Karen Sinyard of Douglasville; one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Raford Vaughn of Powder Springs; four brothers and sisters-in-law, William “Bill” Howard and Johnnie Ruth Sinyard of Lithia Springs, Robert Darnell and Alice Sinyard of Woodbury, Frank Eugene and Joyce Sinyard of Winston, and Jack Lamar and Jennie Sinyard of Powder Springs; 6 grandchildren, Brian Kirk, Stuart Kirk, Bailey Sinyard, Emily Raynor, Brett Sinyard, and Scott Sinyard; 2 great-grandchildren, Logan Raynor and Bryce Liam Kirk; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. James R. Burdette, Dr. Marion Beaver, and Rev. John Meadows officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Rev. John and Mrs. Norma Meadows. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Monday, October 17, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the New Georgia Baptist Church Building Fund.
