Mr. James Monroe Smith, 63 of Villa Rica, GA passed away, Monday, February 20, 2012 at his residence. He was born, July 15, 1948 in Williamson, West Virginia the son of the late Dewey Smith and the late Viola Smith. He worked in the health care industry for many years as a Respiratory Therapist in Delaware, Salisbury, MD and Easton, MD and more recently was the Manager of the Sleep Labs at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica and Carrollton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica. He enjoyed hunting, reading and cooking. He also enjoyed fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Smith and Dewey âCottonâ Smith, and two sisters, Ruth Faulkner and Ida Duncan. Survivors include his wife, Carol Sue Hawkins Smith of Villa Rica, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Carroll Skinner of Villa Rica, son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Tracy Small of Villa Rica, brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Phyllis Smith of Port Orange, FL, 7 grandchildren, Colin Small, Cole Small, Cody Small, Isabella Small, Stevie Brummell, Isaiah Skinner, and Kennedy Skinner, a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Powell officiating.
