James Timothy "Tim" Ricks

Mr. James Timothy “Tim” Ricks, age 60, of Douglasville died of heart failure on February 2, 2008. He was born to Glenn and Glenna Denton Ricks on December 7, 1947 in Rome, Georgia. Mr. Ricks married Bonnie Rae White, daughter of Robert and Kathryn Patton White on December 22, 1967 in Atlanta, and relocated to Douglas County in 1976. Mr. Ricks graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta, received a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Atlanta Area Tech and worked for GA DOT and Ashland Oil. He retired from Doraville’s G.M. Plant. His love for hunting and fishing led him to also work in Sporting Goods in the Douglasville area. He was preceded in death by son, Timothy Dean Ricks in 1991, and is survived by Bonnie Ricks his wife of 40 years; parents, Glenn and Glenna Ricks of Acworth; son, James Yancey and Andrea Johnson Ricks of Winston; daughter, Robin and Barclay Fouts of Acworth; grandsons, Jeramey and Yancey Ricks and Jasper and Jesse Fouts; brothers, Michael and Jean Ricks of Kennesaw, Lynn Ricks of Kennesaw, sister, Brenda and Michael Huff of Acworth; 5 nephews and 1 niece. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Sunrise Memorial Gardens with brother-in-law, Michael Jerry Huff speaking at the graveside. Serving as pallbearers will be James Yancey Ricks, Barclay Matthew Fouts, Michael Jacob Huff, Timothy Matthew Huff, Aaron Glenn Huff, and Christopher Brandon Ricks. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Douglas Co. DFCS, Foster Children’s Fund or to Douglas County Senior Services, Meals on Wheels Program at Suite 100, 8473 Duralee Lane, Douglasville, Georgia 30134.
