James W. Rainwater

Mr. James Willis Rainwater, age 84, of McDonough, Georgia formerly of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at his home. He was born July 20, 1926 in Villa Rica, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Willis Marshall Rainwater and the late Mrs. Thera Bell Baswell Rainwater. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithia Springs. He served on the USS Dennabola in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as a supervisor from the Fruehauf Trailer Company following 37 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Loyd Rainwater of McDonough; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Michael Meredith and Rebecca and Jack Haunson all of McDonough; two sisters, Martha Gantt and Janet Holland both of Villa Rica; brother, Roy Rainwater of Indiana; 2 grandchildren, Michael Meredith, Jr. and Wendy Taylor both of McDonough; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 22, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hennessey officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The following will serve as pallbearers: Tony Meredith, Michael Meredith, Ben Taylor, Roy Spruill, Johnny Nixon, and Jack Haunson. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
