James Washington

Mr. James Alton Washington, 88, of Dallas, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 10, 2016 following a short illness. He was born June 19, 1928 in Paulding County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. William Cleve Washington and the late Mrs. Lucy Leola Baxter Washington. He was a carpenter for over 40 years. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, now known as Grace Life Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by second wife, Jean Gribble Washington; third wife, Shirley Ann Washington; brother, Verdell Washington; and brothers-in-law, Edward E. Henry and Joseph H. George.He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Steve Camp of Johnson City, TN and Karen Washington of Gray, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Sherri Washington of Dallas, GA and James David and Becky Washington of Gray, TN; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Henry of Villa Rica, Frances George of Dallas, Iris Stevens of Villa Rica, Eva Mae and David Craft of Florida, and Edna and James Wright of Villa Rica; five grandchildren, Gregory Camp, Jeremy Washington, Jennifer Brumitt, Jessy Jinks, and D.J. Washington; five great-grandchildren, Autumn Johnson, Brooke Jinks, Sarah Jinks, James David Washington, III, and Joseph Washington; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, September 12, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Pastor Terrence Duckworth and Rev. Donald Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
