Rev. James âJ. W.â Webb, age 87, of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015. He was born November 19, 1927 in Marthasville, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Sterling Collie Webb and the late Mrs. Hazel Eula Manning Webb. Mr. Webb served in the United States Army during WWII. He was an avid golfer and led over 187 mission trips around the world. The Bible proclaims that Jesus is the âCornerstoneâ of the Church. We are so grateful that God gave us our earthly father to be the cornerstone of this family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Collie Webb and sisters, Ruth Mae Voyles and Louise Loucindy Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Jean McCall Webb of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and David Gattis of Clarksville, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryle and Cynthia Webb of Douglasville, James âJimâ and Linda Webb of Debary, FL, Lynear Webb of Douglasville, Therian and Michelle Webb of Roswell; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. James Nichols and Missionary Andy Petersheim officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
