James Wesley Abernathy

James Wesley Abernathy, 70, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 at Heartland Hospice in Austell. Mr. Abernathy was born March 1, 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the son of the late Johnny and Annie Mae Lynn Abernathy. Mr. Abernathy worked as an appliance repairman. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Marie Palmer Abernathy of Douglasville; daughters and sons in-law, Shelia and Timothy Buice of Douglasville, and Sherry and Tommy Jewell of Austell; sons, Michael Abernathy of Douglasville, and Mark Abernathy of Smyrna; sisters and brothers in-law, Maxine and L.J. Blair of Bremen, Annie and Greg Baldwin of Mableton, Linda Copeland of Marietta, and Nancy and Mike Mangle of Snellville; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, June 9, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Gardens in Villa Rica.
