Mr. James William Crane, age 85 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was born April 24, 1936 in Smyrna, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Grady Lee Crane and the late Mrs. Lena Mae Dunn Crane. Mr. Crane proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran. He was a huge baseball fan, proudly supporting The Atlanta Braves. He got to see the Atlanta Crackers play and collected numerous memorabilia from The Atlanta baseball teams. In his later years he could be found listening to his gospel music collection and watching The Food Network. Mr. Crane was a member of Douglasville Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, David Crane.
Mr. Crane is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Barbara Diann Frederick Crane of Douglasville, Georgia; daughter, Betsy Crane of Powder Springs, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Betty Crane of Smyrna, Georgia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Douglasville Church Of God of Prophecy Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A Celebration of Mr. Crane's life will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 3:00 PM from Douglasville Church Of God Prophecy with Bro. James Green, Bro. Larry Lowry, and Mr. Earl Robinson officiating. Inurnment will take place in Heard County at a later date.
