James Henry Wix

Mr. James Henry Wix, age 81, of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was born September 28, 1942 in Dallas, GA to the late Mr. Ralph Wix and the late Mrs. Lena Kelley.

Throughout his professional career, James made significant contributions as a mechanic at Delta, where he devoted over 30 years of his life. James was a passionate coach, sharing his love for sports with the youth in his community for 15 years. In addition to his coaching, James had a unique hobby of racing greyhound dogs for a decade. At the core of his being, James was a devoted family man and a provider. His love and commitment to his family defined much of his life, and he took great pride in caring for those he loved.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Jean Elvie Wix.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Norma Wix; son, Kevin Wix and his wife Britta of KY, and Shane Wix; grandchildren, Nils, Brandon, Spencer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Marty Smith officiating.
