James Wright

Bishop James Clarence Wright, age 76, of Villa Rica, passed away, Monday, January 21, 2019. He was born January 10, 1943 in Opelika, AL the son of the late Mr. James Herbert Wright and Mrs. Mamie Lou Stapler. James accomplished many goals in his 76 years of life. He was an airplane pilot, owned a painting construction company and traveled throughout the United States. He cruised to many countries to minister and sing southern gospel music with his family. In 2006 James was approached to start to pastor at a church. That church became Redemption Christian Center, which he led his congregation to purchasing land and constructing a sanctuary, however, his goal was to have the sanctuary to be debt free upon completion. On December 22, 2018 date RCC was given an occupancy permit and has presently held services for the past four weeks. We are so grateful for the work and sacrifice he made and thankful to God for allowing his dream to come true. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Edna Washington Wright of Villa Rica; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda “Grubb Wright Norton and Jason Norton of Temple, Brenda “Cricket” Wright Rowland and Richard Rowland of Hiram, Sharon Kay and Ricky Wright of Villa Rica, Stephanie Gwen Roberts of Wetumpka, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Paul Johnson and Brandy Johnson of Villa Rica; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Eubanks and her late husband, Richard Eubanks of Douglasville, Marilyn and Daniel Gilbert of Douglasville; brother, Keith Stapler of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Brandon and Makayla Bivins, Alex Rowland, Mitchel Caldwell, Nicki Rowland, Jonathon Roberts, Morghan and Sheldon Groomer, Trey Wright, Tristan Johnson, Kerstin Johnson, Ansleigh Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Adaylynn Caldwell, Ila Ripley Bivins, Kage Groomer, and Renlie Groomer; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Bivins, Rev. Eric English, Evangelist J. W. Daniel, and Rev. Roy Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
