James Olin Yates

James Olin Yates, age 68, of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022. He was born February 15, 1954, son of the late Mr. Willie W. Yates and the late Mrs. Ruthie M. Yates. Mr. Yates loved to garden and had a “green thumb”. He enjoyed westerns and Sci-fi movies and shows. James had a special love for his animals, especially his Dachshund, Candy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother George Yates.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Roxie Yates; daughter, Joy (Vincent) Turano of Edgewater, FL; sister, Brenda (Lee) Evans of Auburn, AL; grandson, Clint Vincent Turano; nieces and nephews, Ken, Heather, Thomas and Sam; several great nieces and nephews.

Per Mr. Yates wishes he was cremated, A celebration of life will take place on October 2nd, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, 1150 Jefferson Ave, East Point, GA 30344. Please R.S.V.P.
