Mrs. Janet Ryan Kowalig, age 53, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. She was born September 25, 1958 in New Brunswick, New Jersey the daughter of the late Mr. Aiden Ryan, Jr. and the late Mrs. Audrey Jane (Kestyus) Ryan Maltby. She married Matt Francis Kowalig on August 12, 1978 in Dayton, New Jersey. She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching cooking shows and working crossword puzzles. She was devoted to her family and was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Matt Francis Kowalig of Douglasville; her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Nathan Hancock of Whitesburg; son, Thomas Kowalig of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Chris Ringler of Plainsboro, NJ; brother, Robert Ryan of Monmouth, NJ; stepfather, Rev. John H. Maltby; aunts, Marilyn Spezio, June LoCastro, and Carol Eichhorn; parents-in-law, Dona and Tom Kowalig of Port Orange, FL; sisters-in-law, Pat Lutz of Pennsylvania and Dee Gibson of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. John H. Maltby officiating.
