Janice Doss Phillips

Janice Doss Phillips, 75, of Temple, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024. She was born on August 28, 1948, the daughter of the late James Marion Doss, Jr., and Faye Thompson Phillips.

One of Janice's greatest joys in life was her family, particularly her three granddaughters whom she adored beyond measure. She poured her heart into creating beautiful memories with them and instilled in them the same values that guided her own life.

Janice dedicated over thirty years of her life to serving the federal government with diligence and commitment. Beyond her professional life, Janice was known for her unwavering faith and devotion. She was a godly woman that exemplified Christian values in everything she did. Her strength of character and kindness touched the lives of many, a legacy of love and compassion.

In her leisure time, Janice found great pleasure in her hobbies and interests. An avid Atlanta Braves fan, she cheered her favorite team. Additionally, she found joy in supporting the University of Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Tommy Phillips; brothers, Bobby Doss and Eddie Doss; and her sister, Cherry Lynn Doss.

She is survived by her son, Chris (Angela) Phillips of Temple; sister-in-law, Jo Doss of Marietta; brother, Jimmy (Lyndell) Doss of Madison; three grandchildren, Zanna Bell, Chloe Phillips, and Madison Phillips; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 12:00 PM from the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton.
