J.C. Capes

Mr. J. C. Capes, 79, of Ray Lee Road, Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Carrollton Nursing and Rahab Center in Carrollton, Georgia. He was born January 31, 1926, in Carroll County, Georgia. He was the son of the late John Capes and the late Ophie Sullivan Capes. Mr. Capes was of the Holiness faith. He was a carpenter in the construction industry and retired from Tressco Company in Smyrna, Georgia after 14 years service. Mr. Capes especially enjoyed ice cream, tomato gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a generous, hard-working man. In addition to his parents, Mr. Capes was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Capes and James Capes and his sisters, Luvie Kilgore and Christine White. Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Mrs. Martha Latimer Capes of Villa Rica; his daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Collins of Temple, Linda Evans of Villa Rica and Kathy and Larry Maney of Bremen; his sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Gray Capes of Villa Rica and Stephen Wayne and Barbara Loyd Capes of Villa Rica; sisters, Lois Kilgore of Tallapoosa, Wenell Storey of Dallas, Betty Grills of Wauchula, Florida and Katherine Key of Double Springs, Alabama; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. John George and Rev. Larry Argo officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by the Full Gospel Church. Pallbearers will be Randy Capes, Dustin Maney, Chris Davis, Franky McGuire, Anthony Lively and Greg Lively. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica, Georgia.
