Willie Jean Beasley Jones, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born on November 7, 1942, the daughter of the late Lawrence Lee Beasley and the late Essie Mae Baker Beasley.
Jean was known for her unwavering devotion to her family, which she held dear above all else. In 1981, alongside her husband, Jack, they opened Jones BBQ in Temple, marking the beginning of a venture that would serve as a cornerstone for the Temple and West Georgia communities. She greeted her patrons with warmth and kindness, leaving a mark on all those who enjoyed her cooking. Her pride in her work was evident, as was her passion for creating a welcoming environment for family and friends alike. Jean also found joy in fishing, cooking, sewing, quilting, canning, and even mowing the grass.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin “Jack” Jones; son, Lindsey Jones; four brothers, and one sister.
Jean is survived by her children, Linda (David) Hudgins of Temple, Georgia, Wallace (Kathy) Deese of Temple, Georgia and Jennifer (Darrell) Robinson of Temple, Georgia; sister, Tilda Carroll of Arab, Alabama; seven grandchildren - Sue (Jonathon) Tipton, Nancy Densmore, Jacob (Emma) Robinson, Austin Robinson, Kelsey Bailey, Jeremiah Clayton and Eli Deese; six great-grandchildren - Tyler Tipton, Finley Tipton, Jaxon Lessany, London Lessany, Cooper Bailey and Grayson Deese; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour at 4:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel with Dr. Corky Addison and Mr. Matthew Beasley officiating. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Temple Georgia.
Jean's legacy will be remembered through the countless lives she touched with her humor, generosity, and dedication. Her family and friends will carry her memory in their hearts, forever grateful for the time spent with such a remarkable woman. May she rest in peace.
