Berma Jeannette Cummings, 84, of Temple, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1941, the daughter of the late Archie Roland Harmon and the late Mattie Ruth Cole Harmon.
Jeannette was a beloved mother and grandmother, whose heart and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Family meant the world to her. She was a woman of deep faith and a devoted Christian who wholeheartedly, alongside her husband Olin, professed their faith.
She had a competitive spirit especially when it came to playing cards with her family or passionately supporting the Atlanta Braves. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. Jeannette also cherished the moments spent traveling to the beach, where she created lasting memories with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Olin Gray Cummings, Sr., brothers, L.G. Harmon, Charles Harmon, and Junior Harmon; and her sister, Maggie Scott.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Cummings of Buchanan, Susan and Mike Beam of Temple, Olin Jr. and Denise Cummings of Paulding, Kenneth and Sabrina Cummings of Calhoun, and Joseph and Christy Cummings of Paulding; sister, Rebecca Fields of Paulding; grandchildren, Rachel and Barry Tate, Nicholas and Courtney Cummings, James and Amanda Cummings, Jonathan and Melissa Cummings, Patrick Cummings and Charity Cummings, John Powell, Cameron and Johnna White, and Sarah Beam; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Heidi, Hudson, Liam, Caleb, Sadie, Titus, Judah, Elijah, Easton, Levi, Jolene, Alana, Ethan, and Sylas; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Concord Baptist Church in Temple with funeral services conducted at 2:00 PM with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Interment will be held at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: John Powell, Cameron White, Patrick Cummings, James Cummings, Jonathan Cummings, and Nicholas Cummings.
Jeannette Cummings will be remembered for her unwavering strength, commitment to her family, and her faithful heart. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
