Mrs. Jean “Jeannie” Lynn Scott Shelton, age 62, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born May 2, 1947 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of the late Mrs. Virginia Mae McCaffrey Brown. She was a member of Mableton Pentecostal Church and was a retired secretary. She was loving and devoted to her friends and family. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hubert Shelton on December 26, 2005; and sister, Judy Graul. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Chari and John Hopper of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Chase and Sherry Booth of Tallapoosa; sisters, Sherry Demas of Wilmington, North Carolina, Vicki Halstead of Farmland, Indiana; brother, Steven Oliver of Redkey, Indiana; 5 grandchildren, Heather Hopper, Christoffer Booth, Morgan Hopper, Josh Hooper, and Brande Booth; one great-grandson, Chase Thomas Booth; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Joel A. Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Cross at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent from www.jones-wynn.com.
