Mr. Jeffery “Jeff” Paul Eskew, 61, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born October 16, 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Mrs. Evelyn Cook Eskew and the late Mr. Paul Frank Eskew. He retired as a firefighter with the City of Atlanta Fire Department. He was an avid golfer and hunter. He loved people and was always willing to lend a helping hand to care for other people. He was a loving and devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda Eskew Miller and Roger Miller of Marietta and Jessica Eskew and Justin DeFriece of Lithia Springs; son, Brandon Scott Eskew of Douglasville; his mother, Evelyn Cook Eskew of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, Melinda and Billy Whitaker of Douglasville; four grandchildren, Isabella Eskew, Levi Miller, Jayden DeFriece, and Jasmine Huff; nephew, Caleb Whitaker and his wife, Alisha Whitaker; nephew, Tyler Whitaker and his fiancé, Kristin Lackey; great niece, Kyla Whitaker; and great-nephews, Logan Whitaker and Mason Whitaker. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Memorial Services will be conducted Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Terry Marbut officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville with honorary escort provided by the City of Atlanta Fire Department.
