Mrs. Jeraldine “Jerri” Miller Scovill, age 72, of Douglasville, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012. She was born October 14, 1939 in Gainesville the daughter of the late Mr. Theodore William Miller and the late Mrs. Thelma Yopp Miller. She enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren and loved her wide circle of friends. She was a member of Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church of Douglasville. She was retired from the Douglas County School System and loved her work with children at Chapel Hill Elementary and Chapel Hill Middle School. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Cleveland Scovill of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Deenie and Jim Cook of Villa Rica; son Theodore “Ted” Scovill of Temple; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Jenkins of Gainesville, Joyce and James Cape of Gainesville; four grandchildren, Jennifer Cook, Joshua and Sarah Cook, Jeremiah Cook and Brian Scovill. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral in Douglasville with Rev. Tom Kaplan and Rev. Kevin Maples officiating. According to Jerri’s wishes, she will be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that contributions be made to the Joe McGraw Benevolence Memorial Fund care of Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church, 5633 Dorsett Shoals Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.
