Jerry Douglas Burton

Mr. Jerry Douglas Burton, 53, of Mill Wheel Drive, Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia. He was born September 28, 1951, in Alabama. He was the son of the late Ed Burton and Mrs. Opal Smith Shumate. Mr. Burton worked as a machinist for Silver Line Building Products in Lithia Springs. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cristina Maria Van Slyke Burton of Villa Rica; his daughter, Melinda Bowman of Villa Rica; son, Matthew Bowman of Villa Rica; his mother and step-father, Opal Smith Shumate and E. J. Shumate of Jasper, Alabama; two nieces and one nephew also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Pastor Mike Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Remembrance at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia.
