Mr. Jerry Lee Criswell, age 65, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. A native of Douglasville, he was born December 13, 1944 the son of the late Mr. Leroy Criswell and the late Mrs. Velma Alice Akin Criswell. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville. He retired from BellSouth and for many years worked independently in telecommunications. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed all sports. He loved bluegrass music and doing crossword puzzles. He volunteered at Douglasville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte William Criswell of Douglasville; stepdaughters and son-in-law, Angela Vann of Buchanan, Valerie Vann of Villa Rica, Tammy and Nat Spraggins of Villa Rica, Lynn Karr-Ritch of Douglasville; stepson and daughter-in-law, John Edward and Angelia Vann of Dahlonega; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce Cook of Temple, Janice and Gene Dean of Douglasville, Judy Glover of Douglasville and Jackie and Barry Easterwood of Douglasville; stepsisters, Alana Coburn and Rhonda Rigsbee; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny White officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
