Jerry Lee Minton

Mr. Jerry Lee Minton, age 66, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 at St. Josephs’ Hospital in Atlanta. He was born September 28, 1940 in Cherokee County, Alabama, the son of the late Mr. Claude Minton and Mrs. Dessie Minton Pettyjohn. Mr. Minton was of the Baptist faith and was the owner of several local businesses including PRC, Inc; Wayne’s Industrial Maintenance; and Michelle’s Family Restaurant. Mr. Minton was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Minton is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Mrs. Ruth Daniel Minton; daughters, Chris Daniell and Alicia Groover; son, Wayne Groover; his mother, Dessie Minton Pettyjohn of Alabama; sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Melvin Lorren of Douglasville, Georgia; brothers, Dickey Pettyjohn of Delaware, and Bobby Pettyjohn of Virginia; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Georgia with Pastor’s Ronnie Puckett and Doug New officiating. Interment will follow in West Georgia Memorial Park in Carrollton, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Monday, April 9, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel in charge of arrangements.
