Jerry Glenn McJunkin

Jerry Glenn McJunkin, age 86, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026. He was born in Etowah, Tennessee on November 2, 1939 to the late Mr. Hobart McJunkin and to the late Mrs. Marie Ballew McJunkin.

Jerry’s long and fruitful life was marked by kindness, dedication, and a profound love for family, friends, and community. Those who knew him cherished his sweet nature and unmistakably friendly demeanor—he truly never met a stranger. Social and outgoing, Jerry’s welcoming personality brought comfort and companionship to everyone he encountered.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, dedicating six years of his life to military service. After his time in the Navy, Jerry embarked on a long and successful career as a machinist at Lockheed Martin, where he contributed his skill and attention to detail as an aircraft machinist over many years.

Jerry was a man of diverse passions and interests. He found great joy in hunting and riding motorcycles. Among his fondest memories was a trip to Mount Rushmore, a journey he undertook with enthusiasm, especially enjoying the ride on his motorcycle.

A devoted sports fan, Jerry cheered enthusiastically for the Tennessee Volunteers, never missing an opportunity to support his team. His commitment to fellowship extended to his involvement as a Freemason Lodge Member, where he fostered bonds and shared values within the brotherhood.

Faith was an enduring cornerstone in Jerry’s life. For over 25 years, he attended Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville, where he faithfully served the congregation. His dedication and integrity were recognized when he became a Deacon, a role in which he provided leadership, counsel, and support to his church family.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald McJunkin; and sister, Linda McJunkin Ketterman.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Hazel Tullis McJunkin; son and daughter-in-law, John and Shelia McJunkin; sister, Brenda Learned; as well as extended family and friends.

In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, he was cremated. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
