Mr. Jerry Wayne âCottonâ Wadsworth, 69, of Winston, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. He was born December 6, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama the son of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hardin Wadsworth and the late Mr. Virgil Freeman Wadsworth. He served in the U.S. Air National Guard. He was a salesman for Westminster International in Buckhead. He was an avid fan of sports and a devoted Alabama fan. He enjoyed plants and recently obtained a greenhouse of his own. He loved visiting Las Vegas and he loved making others laugh and smile. A devoted family man, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Louise Dickinson Wadsworth of Winston; daughter, Lynn W. Cooper of Alpharetta; son, Blake Wadsworth of Atlanta; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Hardin Wadworth of Hueytown, AL; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Joe Welch of Winston and Misty and Randall Morris of Phenix City, AL; step-son, Josh Baker of Buchanan; sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon Elamon of Center Point, AL and Deborah and Phillip Peoples of Hueytown, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Sharon Wadsworth of Cullman, AL; seven grandchildren, Bailey Saltzman, Ethan Allred, Ansley Welch, Greenly Morris, Declan Morris, Noah Baker, and Jase Baker; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Billy Wallace officiating. A Graveside Service will be conducted Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Earnest United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hueytown, Alabama.
