Eugenia "Genie" Culberson

Mrs. Jessie Ann Eugenia “Genie” Culberson, age 83 of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024. She was born November 14, 1940 in Perry, FL, to the late Mr. William Green, Sr. and the late Mrs. Clifford Floreca Carlton.

In her lifetime, Genie led a fulfilling and vibrant existence, leaving an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her passion for life shone brightly through her various hobbies and interests. Genie was an avid golfer who cherished the moments spent on the golf course with her family and friends, achieving the remarkable feat of hitting three holes-in-one. Her skill with a needle and thread was unmatched as she found solace in sewing and spent countless hours creating beautiful pieces. An enthusiast of card games, particularly bridge, she enjoyed competitions with friends. Genie's faith was a guiding light in her life. She was a charter member of the Rocky Bayou Country Club in Niceville, FL, where she found joy in the camaraderie of fellow members. She also was an incredible cook. Genie's bright spirit extended beyond her hobbies; she had a unique ability to bring humor into every situation. Her love for jokes and witty remarks endeared her to many. Genie possessed a resilient spirit, characterized by her stubborness and feisty independence.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Billy Culberson and brother, William Green, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Richard) Vegas of Douglasville; son, Kyle (Jean) Culberson of Douglasville; son, Michael (Michelle) Culberson of Winston; son, Lee A. (Lee B.) Culberson of Bowdon; sister, Denise (Fred) Huneke of Crawfordville, FL; sister, Alda (Richard) Tarvin of Jacksonville, FL; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Thomas Long officiating. Interment will take place at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica.
