Jimmie Turner

Mr. Jimmie Rogers Turner, age 87, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. He was born September 3, 1927 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Alonzo Madison Turner and the late Mrs. Beulah Lee Fleming Turner. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt during World War II. He retired as a Truck Fleet Manager from APEX Linen Service. He was a Mason. Mr. Turner was devoted to his family and was a fun-loving man that enjoyed life. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church in Villa Rica. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Isabelle Drake Turner; sister, Barbara Gordon; and brothers, Jerry Robinson and Aaron Spinks. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Steve Harden of Temple and Sharon and Harry Bryson of Douglasville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Judy Turner of Temple and Darryl and Toni Turner of Savannah; brother, Fred Robinson of Delaware; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Dr. Jerry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Mableton. The following will serve as pallbearers: Mike Wigley, Mark Touchton, Chase Turner, Jamie Turner, Jeremy Turner and Dante Wigley. Military Honors will be provided by members of the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
