Jimmy Eugene Ayers, 85, of Winston, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1939 in Douglasville, Georgia to the late Mary Catheryn Baggett Ayers and Elder "ER" Rader Ayers. Mr. Ayers leaves behind a legacy of determination and hard work that will never be forgotten.
Mr. Ayers was a man of many skills, one of his proudest achievements was becoming journeyman carpenter who was able to build just about anything. After 18 years of loving marriage and the sudden death of his wife, Mr. Ayers took it upon himself to take his children under his wing and he raised them to be hardworking children and family members. Mr. Ayers' farm and family were most important to him - he always made sure they had what they needed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ayers is preceded in death by his loving wife and mother of his children, Mrs. Margie Ann Henslee Ayers; brothers, Steve and Charles Ayers; and daughters, Dana Lee and Lisa Kelly Ayers.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Shawna Ayers; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Jimmy Jennings; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Hilary and Tyler Epps and their children Aiden, Blair and Aubrey Epps; Brooklyn Ayers and her children Emory and Maelyn Elliot; Mallory and Keegan Schlup and their baby; James Beau Brown and Jade Cross and their daughter, Parker Rhain Cross; Carli-Grace Ayers; Brandi and Josh Satterfield and their children Lily and Abby Satterfield; Lisa Awtrey and her children Brentli and Braylen Awtrey; Justin Jennings and his daughter Roselynn Jennings; and Elizabeth Jennings and her children Emma Patterson and Baby Walker Eugene; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Jones-Wynn funeral Home in Douglasville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 25, 2025 in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Winston, Georgia.
