Mr. Jimmy Lamar Ballenger, âBoâ, age 61, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. He was born February 22, 1948 in LaFayette, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Henry Grady Ballenger and the late Mrs. Jewel Inez Hall Ballenger. Mr. Ballenger worked for the Board of Commissioners in the Road Department in Douglasville, and was a member of American Legion Post 145 of Douglasville. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Ballenger was an avid sports fan, enjoying Braves baseball and the Atlanta Falcons. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ballenger was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Lee Ballenger and his sisters, Barbara DiGuardi and Tina Ballenger. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Barbara Brittain Ballenger; his son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Natalie Pike of Carrollton; his sisters, Glenda Hicks of Villa Rica, Shelia Ballenger of Douglasville; his brother, Bobby Joe Ballenger of Villa Rica; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. There will be a gathering of friends on Monday, August 31, 2009 from 12:00Noon until 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica.
