Mr. Jimmy Randall Owens, 72, of Dallas, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was born March 30, 1944 in Westminster, South Carolina, the son of the late Mr. Elree Arlie âFrostyâ Owens and the late Mrs. Minnie Sullivan Owens. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked in the Grading and Hauling industry. He was a faithful member of Gateway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was devoted to God and his family. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed coaching. He served as a volunteer fireman for many years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katie Louise Owens; a daughter, Brandi Owens; and brother, Billy Owens. He is survived by his wife, Sue Still Owens of Dallas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bryan Owens of McDonough and Barry and Natalie Owens of Dallas; stepson, Ben Tyre of Dallas; goddaughter, Becca Hendrix of Villa Rica; sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Tony Moore of Westminster, SC; brother, Ricky Owens of Westminster, SC; five grandchildren, Jazz, Breana, Kianna, Noah, and Abigail; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Gateway Baptist Church in Villa Rica with Pastor Jeff Byrd and Brother Billy Hicks officiating. Mr. Owens will lie in state at the church on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Cainan Byrd, Marcus Byrd, Joey Warren, Thomas Ray, Raymond Hartley, and Jessie Still. Honorary pallbearers will be Morris Hicks and Brad Warren.
