Jimmy Lee Tidwell

Jimmy Lee Tidwell, 76, of Temple, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024. He was born on July 28, 1947, the son of the late Buford Burnett Tidwell and the late Jennie B. McElroy Tidwell.

Jimmy was a proud US Army veteran, who served in Vietnam. Outside of his military service, Jimmy was known for his passion for spending quality time with his family, particularly his beloved grandchildren. He treasured these moments dearly and created lasting memories that will be cherished forever. Jimmy also had a deep love for traveling, fishing, flowers, and gardening. These hobbies brought him joy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Timmy Edward Tidwell, Horace Wayne Tidwell, and Thomas Ray Tidwell.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Dunaway Tidwell; daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy (William) Shirey of Temple, Candi (Aaron) Wilson of Saranda, Albania and Jessica (BJ) Tidwell of Tallapoosa; son and daughter-in-law, Eric (Spring) Tidwell of Temple; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen (Joan) Tidwell of Villa Rica, Billy Tidwell of Villa Rica, James (Irene) Tidwell of Temple, Joe (Debbie) Tidwell of Newnan, Steve (Peggy) Tidwell of Temple, David (Darlene) of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Alice Shirey, Victoria Tidwell, Alex Tidwell, Adrian Tidwell, Abagail Wilson, Addison Wilson, Karyce Wilson, Cherish Wilson, Besim Wilson, Lydia Wilson, Esther Wilson, Tyler Tidwell and Crystal Tidwell; great-grandchildren, Everett Springer, Beau Springer, Elias Perry; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn.

Plant baskets or potted plants are preferred.
