Mr. Jimmy Don Wilson, Sr., age 71, of Temple passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1940 in Alabama the son of the late Mr. Wendell Oliver Wilson and the late Mrs. Ozie Lee DeFreese Wilson. He worked for B. R. Williams in Alabama as a Truck Driver. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church of Villa Rica. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, James “Jamie” Edward Cox; grandchildren, Catherine Briana Cox and Veronica Jacinda Cox; brother, Grover Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Bolin Wilson of Temple; daughters, Elaine Glass of Dixon, TN, Ann Johnson of Wedowee, AL, Lynn Coleman of Acworth; sons, Don Wilson, Jr. of Bremen, Scott Wilson of Bremen, Lamar Cox of Fruit Hurst, AL, Kevin Wilson of Tallapoosa; sisters, Elwanda Walraven of Dallas, Juanita Smith of Dallas, Judy Griffin of Dallas, Elaine Abercrombie of New Georgia, Edith Ivey of Dallas; brothers, Max C. Wilson of Douglasville, James Wilson of Bremen, Billy Wilson of Douglasville, Randy Wilson of Fruit Hurst, AL; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Gateway Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Byrd and Rev. C. T. Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers, Lamar Cox, Chad Cox, Joshua Benefield, Christopher Benefield, Thomas Stapler, and Lee Wilson.
