Jo Nan Coan

Jo Nan Coan, 82, of Villa Rica, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on November 15, 1943, the daughter of the late Jonathan Wilburn Lewis and the late Collie Vinson Lewis.

Nan’s life was marked by a devotion to her family and a kind spirit that touched all who knew her. Nan cherished each moment spent with family, especially her grandchild who was a great joy in her life.

Outside of her family, Nan enjoyed antiquing, where she found beauty and history in cherished treasures. Additionally, she was a dedicated fan of the Atlanta Falcons, proudly supporting her team through every season.

Nan’s legacy of love, kindness, and enthusiasm for life's joys will live on in the hearts of all who remember her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Wilburn Lewis; sisters, Billi Fae Bius and Carol V. Bailey.

She is survived by her loving husband, Laurice Coan; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Lynn and Russell Hunter of British Columbia; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Julie Coan of Athens; brother, Vinson Lewis of Thomasville; grandchild, Ryann Coan.

In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. There will be a celebration of life scheduled at a later date.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege to share in her life.
