Joan Walker

Mrs. Joan Williams Walker, age 75, of Villa Rica, passed away, Saturday, November 18, 2017. She was born May 4, 1942 in Stephens County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Emory Williams and the late Mrs. Addie Grace Wilmot Williams. Mrs. Walker owned a Beauty Shop in Alabama for several years. She operated a Fabric Shop in her home, known for being able to sew anything. Mrs. Walker loved gardening, making your day brighter, investing time in people and decorating for Christmas. She was a very giving and generous lady, who loved her children and grandchildren very much. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Emory Williams; sister, Jackie Moore; and brother-in-law, Billy G. Davis. She is survived by her husband, Donald William Walker of Villa Rica; son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Phylicia Walker of Villa Rica; daughter and son-in-law, Tia and Steve Bright of Winston; sisters and brother-in-law, Anne May Davis of Toccoa, Bonda and Terry Sheriff of Toccoa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Williams of Toccoa, Hampton and Hilda Williams of Snellville, Danny and Sheryl Williams of Wynne, Arkansas; grandchildren, William B. and Hannah Walker, Megan and Robert “Woody” Woodard, Daniel Bright and Lauren Williams, and Ben Bright; two great-grandchildren, William Owen Walker and Thomas Blake Walker; sister-in-law, Barbara Williams of Toccoa; brother-in-law, Bud Moore of Toccoa; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Walker will lie in state at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Toccoa from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Rock Creek Baptist Church in Toccoa with Pastor Ken Jackson and Mr. Robert “Woody” Woodard officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery in Toccoa with the following gentleman serving as pallbearers, Steven Daniel Bright, William B. Walker, Justin Nathan Davis, Christopher Dylan Williams, Dalton Chance Williams and Roger Bradley Walker. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
