JoAnn Gowens

Mrs. JoAnn Rogers Gowens, age 76, of Centre, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 the daughter of the late Russell Rogers, and Louise Rogers. She enjoyed crafting and painting, was very artsy and very creative. She was a very loving mom and grandmother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William Gowens; children, Michael Robin Parks, and Norman Roger Parks; brothers, Joe Rogers, Allen Rogers, and Donald Ray Rogers; sister, Janice White. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law’s, Bobby Ray and Tammy Parks of Centre, Alabama, Dwight “Randy” and Rebecca Parks of Acworth, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Michael Robin Parks Jr. and Melissa Parks of Acworth, Georgia, Amanda and Scott Henderson of Fort Payne, Alabama, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., of Centre, Alabama, Corey Parks of Scottsboro, Alabama, Derek Parks of Centre, Alabama, Christopher and Jessica Parks of Rockmart, Georgia, Brittany and Frankie Scott of Marietta, Georgia; twelve great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Phyllis Rogers of Bessemer, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville.
