Joe Venoy Carnes “Baby Carnes”, 84, of Villa Rica, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024. He was born on August 26, 1939, the son of the late Joe Fred Carnes and the late Lois Wix Carnes.

Joe dedicated many years of his life as an engineer with the Ga Dept. of Transportation. His hard work and dedication have left a lasting impact on those around him. Joe was known for his passion of work and coaching his son Kevin's sports team, further showcasing his love for staying active and involved in the lives of his loved ones. He had a beautiful voice and a talent for playing the guitar, bringing joy to those who had the opportunity of hearing him perform. In his retirement, he also enjoyed playing golf.

Joe will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Marion Fred Carnes, Robert Kenneth Carnes and Earnest Michael Carnes; ex-wife and special friend, Patricia Keesee Carnes.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Orin) Camp of Douglasville; son Kevin (Courtney) Carnes of Carrollton; grandchildren, Austin Andrew Camp, Christopher Grant Camp, Joseph Riley Camp, Charles Wyatt Camp, Caleb Michael Crews, Lauren Whitley Carnes, Chandler Lee Carnes, and Gabriella Grace Carnes; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
